Valentino is a famous luxury brand of fashion that is located in Italy, and is famous for its beautiful and ethereal collections of clothes for women. Valentino’s early life and journey into stardom

The name of this company is Valentino Group and its founder is the man named Valentino Garavani . She starting appreciating fashion from childhood, and at seventeen she had designed her first costume. He then went and studied fashion design at the École des Beaux-Arts and Chamber Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne in Paris.

After this he moved back to Italy and in the year 1959 opened his first couture house in Rome. In the next year, he started Valentino company where Giammetti was responsible for dealing with the finances.

The young designer was soon launched into the jet set society of the sixties, and such legends as Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor in his stylish red carpet gowns. In the following years Valentino developed his reputation and in 1962, he showed his first haute couture collection in Paris and a first pret-a-porter line in 1966.

In the show it insisted particularly on full-length gowns, capes and simple shift dresses which were enriched with lace and embroidery and rich fabrics.

Establishing an Iconic Brand in the 1970s and 1980s

In the next twenty years Valentino was launching various lines, but still continuing to occupy the top of high fashion. He also made some of this clothing for members of international royalty, including princesses in the 1970 s and 80 s, including Princess Margaret of the United Kingdom and Queen Paola of Belgium.

Valentino left the pack of luxury-ready wear designers and became one of the pioneers of lifestyle luxury branding. For the house he started a ready-to-wear bridal collection in the ‘70s which became a plus of Yves Saint Laurent and also a line of fur coats.

Beginning in 1977, the first boutique established in Milan was designed to resemble an over-the-top formal parlor. Other Valentino boutiques appeared in other countries shortly after and were also furnished in kitschy Rococo style that was to become emblematic of Valentino.

Valentino, who retired last year after more than five decades in fashion design, proved that the essence of luxury is possible. In July 2007, at the age of seventy-five, Valentino retired with the final collection of haute couture in Paris where the models presented clothes that the master created over the years for À° Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Onassis.

The final bow intrigued a standing ovation that went on for almost 15 minutes. Valentino’s retirement saw the company hand over the creative helm to Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli and continued his legacy.

The Valentino Garavani Legacy Today

The house of Valentino persists under the artistic direction of Piccioli; he took over the full responsibility of leading the company after Chiuiri moved to Dior. The couture atelier is still in Rome as well as managed by individuals who knew Valentino and collaborated with him for years.
